Fundamental Certificate In Early Childhood Care & Education

The Fundamental Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (FC ECCE) is designed to help assistant teachers and caregivers play a nurturing and valuable role in the care and development of young children. The course will equip assistant teachers and caregivers in the preparation of teaching aids, assist in conducting activities and preparation of the learning environment.

Aims and objectives of course:
Upon completion of the course, caregivers will be able to:

• Understand the growth and development of the child;
• Understand and respond to the basic needs of children effectively;
• Assist in the planning and implementation of quality learning and creative experiences for young children;
• Appreciate the importance of a stimulating but safe environment for young children to explore and interact;
• Appreciate the importance of the child’s health and nutritional requirements; and
• Appreciate their role and responsibilities in the care and development of young children.

• Practicum

Admission Requirment

Completed at least Secondary 2 Education or its equivalent

Award of Certificate

Upon successful completion of coursework and practicum, and a minimum of 75% attendance, participants will be awarded the Fundamental Course in Early Childhood Care & Education Certificate by KLC School of Education.
