Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

To allay some of your apprehensions about living and studying in Singapore ,we have a list of FAQ bellow for your refference.

 

Q : How much money should I set aside for my daily and monthly expenses?

A: We estimate that you will require S$12,000 to S$14,000 per annum to cover your living expenses in each year of your study. You can use the following budget as a guide for a student living in a shared room accommodation.

Please note that the estimated expenses quoted are subject to inflation and may vary depending on market conditions. The amount required will also depends on your personal requirements, budget and type of housing.
 
 
Q: Can I pay for my tuition fees in instalments?

A: Yes, please refer to your Student Contract. 

Q: What are the modes of payment?

A: You may pay via telegraphic transfer or bank draft.

Q: Am I allowed to work part-time in Singapore ?

A: You are strictly not allowed to engage in any form of employment, whether paid or unpaid, or in any business, profession or occupation in Singapore during the validity of your Student's Pass unless you have the consent in writing of the Controller of Immigration. Violators will be prosecuted by law.

Q: What should I bring to Singapore?

A: We suggest you bring along a laptop, toiletries, some Singapore dollars and personal belongings.

Q: What kind of clothing should I bring along?

A: Singapore lies at the equator and the weather is generally hot all year round. Lightweight clothing will generally be sufficient with perhaps a light jacket or sweater for use during lessons in the air-conditioned rooms.

Q: Can I take leave off school term to go back to hometown?

A: Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. You are required to submit a leave application form with all supporting documents and will be subjected to KLC’s approval.

Q: Any tuition fee loan or financial assistant that I can undertake?

A: There are no fee loans or financial assistance for international students at the moment.

Q: How do I know if my application has been successfully received or submitted?

A: You will receive a notification from your agent or us by email or phone call informing you that your application has been received and processed.

Q: When do I pay tuition fees?

A: You will be required to pay the tuition fee upon approval of your student pass and after signing the PEI Student Contract. Tuition Fees will required to be paid to "KLC School of Education Pte Ltd" by your selected choice of payment mode. 

Q: Can I request for deferment of my course? Would the sch ool be able to reserve the place for me?

A: Such arrangements will only be considered on a case-by-case basis.
