Principal's Message

 Greetings! 

Welcome to KLC School of Education Website. It is here that we share with you KLC's vision and we are proud to be your partner in professional education.

KLC School of Education, established in 1988, has long believed in the foundations of life-long learning; KLC started with the education of teachers of young children, the building blocks of society.   Over the years, KLC has increased its portfolio of professional education programs to include certificate-level, diploma-level, and degree-level courses with a dedicated focus on early childhood education, and the Chinese Language.   Adding to that prestige is the endorsement of courses by various significant, relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS) as well as accreditation of programs by world-class institutions including Beijing Normal University. 

Recognition, Here and Beyond...

As a private education provider, KLC has been recognized for good business practice and excellence through Singapore Case Trust for Education and Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organizations (SQC-PEO).  We are also proud to be one of the first SQC-PEO training institutions to be accredited by the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, and trusted to recruit foreign students from China.

The vision of KLC School of Education is to be a partner in representing Singapore's quality education here and to the world; in short, we strive to make Singapore a quality red dot on the world map of education.  This vision is a dynamic one; requiring us to constantly work at, both in Singapore and beyond. As such, apart from providing pathways to professional training, KLC has already embarked on setting new standards for the industry by hosting the Asia Chinese Early Childhood Education Conference since 2003, and collaborated in cross-cultural research studies with Queensland University of Technology, Queensland, Australia and LiaoNing Normal University, Dalian, China. 

Looking Ahead.

We hope to provide more in-service courses to upgrade teachers on the 21st century skills for teachers, such as action research, adaptive problem  solving, critical thinking , problem-based learning and learning from the environment. Recently, MOE and MCYS have made a number of excellent suggestions in the teaching pedagogy for young children and teachers are also encouraged to carry out  action research in their centres . We are actively infusing the suggestions into our programmes . Besides having modules on Action Research in our Diploma and Leadership Programmes, seminars are also being organized for principals and teachers on research. Professional Development is very crucial for the intellectual growth of teachers and we take it very seriously.
